Soundsnap is the best platform to find and share free sound effects and loops- legally. It is a collection of original sounds made or recorded by its users, and not songs or sound FX found on commercial libraries or sample CD’s.

The website interface is very clear, and you can listen to loops and sounds before downloading them. The sounds are available in mp3, wav and aiff formats.

As usual with those two guys,this is probably one of the best Ambient record. Fantastic sound and sounds, great inspiration, very different tracks, etc… and I can continue !

Copal River is the reunion of Darrell Burgan (Palancar) and Scott Turner (Not Your Average Hippy). That second record is the result of week ends of work toguether:

In the months and years that followed, Darrell and Scott enjoyed several other such ambient weekends, with each traveling to the other’s home state and studio. Naturally, they made a point to record these sessions, and later with encouragement from family and friends decided to release them.

The only thing you must do now is give it a try ! My personnal favorite is “Urban Still Life”.

Really good ambient music, very rich, colorful, a lot of things and sounds are happening:

Priest Lake Circa ‘88 exudes restraint and repose, yet is so richly melodic and full. While the album draws its raw form from ambient music, post rock and even dream pop, it is masterfully crafted into something that could only ever find itself under the Slow Dancing Society moniker. The album speaks of both departure and eventual return, and perhaps in its broadest sense the notion of “home”. Above all, this is music to bathe in: warm, steamy and all-encompassing.

Give it a go, and also check the other releases from Slow Dancing Society.

The festival will feature ambient noise and drone music for the next 8 days (as well as some other stuff).

Anyone knows who  is the artist ?

Warning: I’m speaking about myself here !

Well, I finally decided to put online part of my music. Some pieces were already available via some  “Ambient” compilations on the Internet and some are still only available via a record company.

As I still not chosen how I wanted to distribute my music I ended up on Last.fm because they offer a solution for artists that seduce me at the moment: You can save your tracks their site and give the opportunity for everyone to listen to them in their entirely without allowing the download. For the moment it’s what I want.

So, if you love “Ambient” music with some “Berlin School” spirit, a little dark and cinematic, this is for you!

The album “Early Works” brings together (well when I’ll finish uploading everything) music made before 2007, I think a dozen pieces in total, a kind of best-of of the old!

So come on, listen to it, tag, comment, share, be social!

This new record is a great mix between New Age and Ambient music, taking in some ways the “best of both worlds”.
