syndae: EM podcast

For this Week-end, another excellent Podcast to discover : Syndae !

Syndae is a fine EM (Electronica /Electronic Music) to listen, discover some of the best EM artists out there :

syndae is an independent podcast on electronic music of ambient, space, new age, harmonic, traditional, progressive, and rhythmic style, not directly including electronic dance music. Well known artists in electronic music are (in no specific order): Klaus Schulze, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Ron Boots, Ian Boddy, Kraftwerk, and Steve Roach.

The goal of syndae is to make aware of fine electronic music, by providing enjoyable episodes with well known and not yet well known artists from around the world, and to promote events of the electronic music scene, by dedicating episodes to selected artists of such an event.

Stefan, host of the show, will guide you during 30 minutes into a fine music journey. The Podcast is quality, and the length perfect.

For example this week, Syndae N°38 will present:

Expect some of the most talented EM artists in tonight’s episode 38 of syndae! Brand new tracks by Christopher J. Wray from the UK from his upcoming album Retrospect, by Frank van Bogaert from Belgium from his June 2009 album Air Machine, and by Stefan Erbe from his soon to be live presented album Driver. Further on the show, an insight into Imaginary Soundtrack by Peter Beasley and hot stuff by jujigen a.k.a. Kevin Rees from the just released compilation Nucleolus.

Have fun !

Service message: About the RSS feed

I’ve change the RSS feed provider  for the Ambient blog. I’ve moved it from Feedburner to Google.

That means that if you suscribed to it a long time ago and you’re one of the 5/6 people that are still using the feed at “http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheAmbientBlog” you should change it.

The correct address is anyway always on the blog, at :

http://ambient.bourzeix.com/feed

Thanks for checking and changing it eventually, the old one will be deleted in a few days !

There is a new kid on the block (blog ?) in the just launched Ambient Hood blog, as announced yesterday by Bill “Wind and Wire” on the Ambient Way mailing list. You’ll find (as here) the usual categories like reviews, events, shows … and also an online forum.
Just like here it’s the begining and pretty empty, just like here, it’s gonna grow !

Cinema Volta – Daily Ambience

Cinema Volta, the Daily Ambience is a blog by John Maxwell Hobbs, but a very special type of blog :

John chose to compose and to post a new song everyday, just like you would do with a regular blog. Here what he is saying :

As an exploration of ambient music and the limits of my own creativity, I have been composing and releasing a new song every day.
Sometimes these songs are sketches, sometimes full-blown compositions, it all depends on my inspiration and my available time.

The result is impossible to describe, as the range of music covered in those daily posts is too wide, and very different. John is posting since January 30 of this year and so only a few weeks remains ! So jump in, listen to all the old songs (more than 280 !), and tune in everyday for your dose of ambient !
